HR (formerly HIRO GALLERY IZUOKAWA) is delighted to present its first exhibition under the new management: The Waves Are Coming, a two-person exhibition by Hayato Isozaki and Aoi Michimae.

HR is a newly redefined project space, evolving from HIRO GALLERY IZUOKAWA. Nestled between sea, mountains, and rivers, the venue offers a spacious gallery filled with abundant natural light, alongside an artist-in-residence program that supports production and experimentation. HR is dedicated to presenting ambitious, concept-driven contemporary art—including large-scale installations—while also developing collaborative projects with the local community.

この度、HR (旧称・ヒロ画廊伊豆大川) は、現体制初となる展覧会、磯崎隼士/道前碧による二人展「波がくる」を開催致します。

HR（エイチ・アール）はこの度ヒロ画廊伊豆大川から名称を改め、新たな試みを展開するプロジェクトスペースです。海山川に囲まれ、豊かな自然光が注ぎ込む広い展示空間と、アーティストの滞在制作を支えるレジデンス機能を兼ね備えています。大型インスタレーションを含むコンセプチュアルな現代美術の展示や紹介に加え、地域と連携したアートプロジェクトを随時開催していきます。

For its opening program, HR welcomes guest director Ryota Kawaguchi, independent curator and co-founder of the curatorial collective {} (cacco). Through a residency-based practice, the curator and artists will work together to present new, experimental approaches.

From September 1 to 15, 2025, Isozaki and Michimae will take part in a residency at HR. The final three days, September 13–15, will feature an Open Studio, offering visitors the opportunity to witness works-in-progress. On the opening day of the exhibition, September 20 (Sat) from 15:00 to 19:00, an Opening Reception will be held with both the artists and curator present.

Both the Open Studio and the Opening Reception are free and open to the public. We warmly invite you to join us for the launch of HR and its inaugural exhibition.

こけら落としはゲストディレクターとしてキュラトリアルコレクティブ {} (cacco) 代表でインディペンデントキュレーターの川口遼大を招聘し、アーティストとキュレーターによる滞在制作を通して実験的な実践を発表いたします。

磯崎隼士 / 道前碧の二人の作家は 9/1(月)〜9/15(月)の間、HRにて滞在制作を行います。

最後の3日間となる 9/13(土)、14(日)、15(月) にはオープンスタジオを開催いたします。

また、展覧会初日 9/20（土）15:00-19:00 にはキュレーター、アーティストを交えてオープニング・レセプションを開催いたします。

オープンスタジオ、レセプションともにどなたもご自由にご参加いただけます。
