Ikeda 20 seiki bijutsukan（Ikeda 20th century museum）in Ito City Shizuoka, held an exhibition, “KIDA YASUHIKO - INORINOMICHI -（KIDA YASUHIKO - Way of Prayer - ）.” Commemorating this exhibition, also located in Ito City Shizuoka, HIRO GALLERY IZUKOGEN held “Yasuhiko Kida representative woodcut prints exhibition.”

Yasuhiko Kida has potently depicted famous sceneries and temples in archetypal image of Japan. He has made his works in various techniques such as glass painting, board painting, ink painting and so on. The woodcut prints are especially evaluated among them, and British Museum has collected his woodcut prints as a permanent collection. Also, His works are widely known for the package illustrations of a well-known bath agent series, “Tabinoyado.”

HIRO GALLERY IZUKOGEN held “Yasuhiko Kida Woodcut prints Exhibition” featuring spa towns throughout Japan in May 2010. In this exhibition, related to “Way of Prayer,” we displayed the representative woodcut prints that are difficult to acquire currently, including the very precious Sanjusangen-do [thirty-three ken (length) hall].

静岡県伊東市の池田20世紀美術館にて、展覧会「木田安彦 祈りの道」が開催されました。この展覧会を記念し、同じく静岡県伊東市のヒロ画廊伊豆高原にて木田安彦木版画代表作品展を開催いたしました。

木田安彦は、日本人のこころに深く根ざした風物、名刹を力強く表現し続けてきました。ガラス絵、板絵、水墨など様々な技法で作品を制作していますが、特に木版画は高く評価されており、大英博物館にも作品が収蔵されています。入浴剤「旅の宿」シリーズのパッケージデザインなどでも広く知られています。

ヒロ画廊伊豆高原では2010年5月に、日本全国の温泉地をテーマにした木田安彦木版画展を開催しました。今回は≪祈りの道≫にちなみ、門外不出の「三十三間堂（1978）」をはじめとした、現在では入手困難な木版画の代表作を中心に展示いたしました。ご来場誠にありがとうございました。
