From 10th December 2006 to 18th February 2007, Cecco Bonanotte Exhibition was held at the Hakone Open-Air Museum sponsored by the museum and Hisamitsu Pharmaceutical.

In the exhibition, a total of 150 pieces including 90 sculptures, paintings and dessins were exhibited. They were borrowed from the domestic major museums and Italy, such as the Vatican Museums. The artist himself conducted the selection of the works, the arrangement of the venue and the display. So the exhibition was constructed by the value of the artist consistently on large scale.

Cecco Bonanotte is a leading modern sculptor in Italy. He has made many important works worldwide such as the new portal for the Vatican Museums in 2000 and the bronze portal of the Musee de Luxembourg in Paris in 2006. In Japan, His sculpture represented contemporary Italian art in the Italian Pavilion in the Ocean Expo in Okinawa, 1975 and a traveling exhibition was held at 4 museums in 1990.

箱根･彫刻の森美術館において、2006年12月10日（日）から2007年2月18日（日）に彫刻の森美術館、久光製薬主催による「チェッコ・ボナノッテ展」が開催されました。

本展には、国内の主要美術館からの作品に加え、ヴァチカン美術館などイタリアからの特別出品による彫刻90点と絵画、素描など60点をあわせた合計150点が展示されました。作品の選定、会場構成、展示とその全てに作家自身があたり、作家の一貫した世界観で構成された大規模な展覧会となりました。

チェッコ･ボナノッテは現代イタリアを代表する彫刻家で、2000年にはヴァチカン美術館新正面入り口大扉制作、2006年にはパリ･リュクサンブール美術館ブロンズ大扉の制作など、歴史的に見ても偉大な制作を数多く行う世界的作家の一人です。国内でも1975年の沖縄海洋博覧会･イタリア館への出品、1990年には4美術館を巡回する「ボナノッテの世界展」などが開催されています。
